Exploring Vietnam with Php 15,000 budget

I found Vietnam as interesting to be part of my bucket list because of its history partly filled with wars and atrocities. This made me curious how the country survived those years while maintaining the culture as an important thing they can be proud of to others. We visited its two famous cities, Ho Chi Minh (HCM) and Hanoi in a span of one week.

With a budget of P15,000, I already experienced setting my foot in the Land of Blue Dragon. You just need some skills to search for promo fares, cheaper accommodations and tourist spots to visit!

HCM Itinerary: Cu Chi Tunnel - Fine Arts Museum - Saigon Opera House - Saigon Post Office - Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica - War Musuem - Independence Palace - Reunification Palace - HCM Museum - HCM City Hall - Bitexco - Ben Thanh Market - Pham Ngu Lao

First and second day in HCM

Third day in HCM

Hanoi Itinerary: Hoan Kiem Lake - Museum of Veitnamese Revolution - Hanoi Opera House - Quan Su Temple - Hoa Lo Prison - St. Joseph Cathedral - Hanoi Old Quarter - Ha Long Bay

From first to third day in Hanoi

Breakdown of Expenses:
Airfare  7,176
Accommodation 3,000
Cu Chi Tunnel 250
Mekong Delta  700
Ha Long Bay 1,500
Food, Entrance fees, Taxi 2,370
14,996

The expenses above do not include other additional cost such as shopping. Yes, you need to do some hoarding at Vietnam since they have a lot of very cheap products like Kipling! Night markets are common everywhere selling items ranging from P50 to 1,000. I found Vietnam specifically HCM as a place best for shopping spree next to Bangkok.

To give you more information and some tips about our trip, a more detailed itinerary will be posted next on my blog!
