When Davao City and Vietnam Collides at Little Nam

Image
Want to taste authentic Vietnamese cuisine without going out of the country? You can have it here in Davao City and what's make it more interesting is that it doesn't cost too much. It's now one of the locations where foodtrippers stop by - the Little Nam. It is located at Rowi Square, Mamay Road, Angliongto Avenue, Lanang, Davao City (along with Kushiya Restaurant).  The store is just small which can cater less than 50 people. They're open from lunch until night but it's better to eat there by dinner since it's not airconditioned.  They give large servings that's why a one dish can be shared to 2-3 persons and for some is 3-4 persons as what we did.  Little Nam Vietnamese Restaurant at Rowi Square, Mamay Road, Angliongto Avenue, Lanang, Davao City Little Nam Vietnamese Restaurant Food menu Hu Tieu Special for P248. Another hide-out in Davao City: #deq @ Saging Repablik

Image
Saging Repablik is one of the surviving cafes in Davao City. And what I think the reason why is because it's going along with the trends. They renovated their resto converting the small space then into a one-building rustic hangout place for everyone, still on the same location at Tionko Avenue Corner V. Mapa Street , Davao City . I think they even extended their menu to give their customers more options to choose from the food and drink list. From cakes, frappes, meals and desserts, yes, banana fruit is present (well just telling you just incase you're wondering what's with the resto's name) although not really to all food and drinks. The building has two floors: the lower is for those who want an airconditioned room while the upper floor which they call as #deq (it's hashtag deck or just call it deck) is an open space usually for those who want to chill and hangout. Also on its second floor is a mini function room which can cater around 15-20 persons. They&#

Discovering the Eden Nature's Park and Resort

Image
December 2014. My December had been filled with adventures. It was just the right moment before I ended up my year 2014. And of course, I would not be leaving the year without discovering the beauty of the well-known Eden Nature's Park and Resort. It is more convenient to bring a car going up there. But for the commuters, ride a jeepney in Roxas Boulevard going to Ulas and advise the driver to drop you off at Ulas intersection. From there, ride a tricycle or habal-habal going up to the Eden Park which is still few kilometers away from the highway.  Before it was open to public, Eden Park had been just a hacienda of the Ayala's in Davao. Bamboos and ferns were the original plantations in the 80-hectare land and eventually, other plants were also added such as the Baguio pine trees, mangosteen, marang and many more to improve the site. As of now, only 65 hectares of it are being utilized as a park. They also added the herbs and spices such as basil and oregano; vegetable

Day Tour at D'Leonor Inland Resort and Adventure Park

Image
December 2014. Davao City has been slowly evolving into a much progressive city. More resorts, hotels, condominiums, parks and even malls are being built to meet the demands and needs of the people especially those who are coming from outside the city and wished to visit and/or stay here. One of the new inland resorts in the city is the D'Leonor Inland Resort and Adventure Park  which is located at Purok 5, Barangay Communal, Davao City. From Barangay Buhangin, we took a cab and traveled for almost 30-45 minutes as there was an ongoing renovation in the Cabantian road that time. It is highly advisable to take a cab/taxi instead of commuting through jeepneys and tricycles since these are not always available to reach the park. Entrance to the park. Here are the rates (per pax) for the different amenities in the park as of December 2014: Entrance (inclusive of free daytour):          Adult - 50.00, Child - 30.00 Cable car (two way):
