December 2014. My December had been filled with adventures. It was just the right moment before I ended up my year 2014. And of course, I would not be leaving the year without discovering the beauty of the well-known Eden Nature's Park and Resort. It is more convenient to bring a car going up there. But for the commuters, ride a jeepney in Roxas Boulevard going to Ulas and advise the driver to drop you off at Ulas intersection. From there, ride a tricycle or habal-habal going up to the Eden Park which is still few kilometers away from the highway.  Before it was open to public, Eden Park had been just a hacienda of the Ayala's in Davao. Bamboos and ferns were the original plantations in the 80-hectare land and eventually, other plants were also added such as the Baguio pine trees, mangosteen, marang and many more to improve the site. December 2014. I'd been waiting for that long Christmas holiday break. And at last, just right after the Christmas day, I immediately packed up my things for my new adventure to a place to discover -  CAMP SABROS! Camp Sabros is owned by Mr. Edwin Sacdalan which is located at Sitio Baras, Kapatagan, Digos City. It has been known for its zipline and cable lift amenities and of course, the over viewing Kapatagan area. From Davao City, we rode a coaster or a mini bus of Davao Metro Shuttle bound to Digos City at the Abreeza Ayala Mall bus terminal. Fare is Php 100.00. We started our trip the next day. We headed to the old terminal via tricycle for Php 10.00 where the terminal heading to Kapatagan was also located. As per tricycle driver that we had talked to, motorcycle or habal-habal is the common mode of transportation used by commuters since this is always available in the terminal and it's faster also compared to vans which do not have clear trip schedule. December 2014. Davao City has been slowly evolving into a much progressive city. More resorts, hotels, condominiums, parks and even malls are being built to meet the demands and needs of the people especially those who are coming from outside the city and wished to visit and/or stay here. One of the new inland resorts in the city is the D'Leonor Inland Resort and Adventure Park  which is located at Purok 5, Barangay Communal, Davao City. From Barangay Buhangin, we took a cab and traveled for almost 30-45 minutes as there was an ongoing renovation in the Cabantian road that time. It is highly advisable to take a cab/taxi instead of commuting through jeepneys and tricycles since these are not always available to reach the park. Entrance to the park. December 2013.   To be chosen as one of the fifteen delegates to represent the Philippine delegation for the JENESYS 2.0: Japan-ASEAN Student Conference was a wonderful blessing for me and somehow a Christmas gift also for myself since I didn’t only attend a conference but also had the chance to visit some historical places, experience the culture in Japan, met new friends and built new connections. It  was held last December 7 to 16, 2013 at Japan.  This was indeed a rare opportunity for young individuals especially that the event was funded by the Japanese Government. Who would ever thought that I was one among the lucky 180 participants to be part of the remarkable event and met the First Lady Akei Abe of Japan in person. May 2012 . I was one of the chosen Philippine delegates for the Initiative For Peace  conducted by the Li Po Chun United World College (LPC-UWC) of Hong Kong students. It is an annual program of the students which aimed to bring youth from Philippines to understand conflict and learn conflict management. Eighty percent of my plane fare (Davao-Cebu-HK and vice versa) was catered by the organizers. Our accommodation was free. We chose Mactan International Airport over NAIA as it was cheaper that time. We arrived late at night at LPC-UWC and started meeting our fellow Filipino delegates. Arrival area at the Hong Kong International Airport. Initiative For Peace 2012 delegates. After the program proper, the organizers toured us around Hong Kong for free especially at the Victoria Harbour where we witnessed the symphony of lights, a 15 minute show of spectacular light from the buildings synchronized to music. It is staged every 8:00 PM and everyone is free to watch. S
